Meet Kate.
Kate Wertheimer is an award-winning content creator whose strengths lie in editorial and brand strategy. She has led creative content teams, built brand awareness and driven revenue growth for major media brands, and is particularly good at telling compelling stories to motivate and influence others, whether they be customers, clients or colleagues. Most recently, she was Travel and Style Editor at Sunset Magazine. Previously, she worked as Global Travel Editor for Time Out Group and Editor in Chief at Time Out Los Angeles, and was honored with a Top Women in Media Award from Folio in June 2017 for her work with the Time Out brand. Kate has written for a number of publications including Gothamist, Oyster.com, Vegetarian Times, Glamour, Redbook, Seventeen, Total Beauty, Natural Health, Fit Pregnancy and Merry Jane. She also does freelance copywriting, content strategy and brand strategy for startups such as BrandUp, Heliotrope, Doja, and The Outpost.
Kate graduated from Northwestern University in 2008 with a BA in Communication Studies and Psychology, and attended the Columbia Publishing Course the following summer. Her (formal) education was sandwiched between summers living on the Puerto Rican island of Vieques, where she worked as a kayak and snorkel guide and volunteered with US Fish and Wildlife and the Department of Natural Resources. She's spent the last ten years honing her editorial chops and taking trips to anywhere she can find cheap airfare or an open campsite. Kate is a storyteller, brand champion, and travel and outdoor enthusiast with a passion for the written word and the natural world.
